WCN's
co-founder,
Kim Korman Brown, specializes in conference transcription.
She's fast and accurate, and pays attention to detail.
Kim has experience with many types of conference presentations,
including academic, political, ecumenical, NGOs (non-governmental
organizations) and international conferences, where the speakers
were not native English speakers.
Transcription rates are $9.00
per single spaced typed page of output ,
and $18 per hour for audio proofing
and review of typed pages.
If necessary, we can negotiate a "per
word" rate, if pages have varying amounts of text. Rates
are also negotiable, based on the job.
Tapes must be normal cassette size (not micro cassettes).
The $9 per page rate applies to audio tapes that are clear
and understandable. Poor quality recordings or speakers
that are difficult to understand take longer. It can take
3 to 4 times as long to transcribe difficult tapes. The standard
$9 per page rate (above) usually works out to 3 pages per
hour, or $27 per hour. We usually charge by the hour for difficult
tapes, at the rate of $27 per hour.
We will call you if your tapes fall into the "difficult
to understand" category, and provide an estimate before
we begin work.
If requested, specialized terms and names can be looked up
on the Internet (for spelling), at the rate of $18 per hour
(this is especially useful for international and specialized
conferences).
Return postage of tapes will be included in the invoice.
Output is sent to the client via email, unless otherwise
specified. If so, charges will accrue for any media costs,
such as diskettes or CD-ROMs.
Payment is expected upon receipt of the order.
