Quotes from
Leaders & Parents about
The True Love Thing to Do Curriculum
(Note that some
of these quotes reference the original name of the curriculum,
which was titled "Abstinence Because of Love".)
"This booklet is a must read for
those who want to learn a positive way to promote what for
some has become a negative concept ... abstinence! Love is
such a warm and fuzzy word, but this booklet will help you
realize that true love will always demand sacrifice. To love
someone enough to want the best for them, spiritually, emotionally
and physically will involve hard work! To say no to sex outside
of marriage is saying, 'I want the best for you and the best
for myself,' and it can be difficult to do, but it will be
so rewarding! Reward yourself and read Abstinence Because
of Love."
~ Molly Kelly ~ National Lecturer
on chastity and a huge fan of today's teens!
"Today's society bombards young people with messages that
confuse sex with true love. Abstinence Because of Love will
help young people understand that true love, as defined by
respect and lifelong commitment, is the key to long-term sexual
and emotional fulfillment."
~ Shepard Smith ~ Institute
for Youth Development
"provides a clear, straightforward explanation of why abstinence
and lasting love are interconnected."
~ Richard Panzer ~ Founder
of Free Teens, Inc.
"Peter Brown has bravely tackled an important and difficult
subject. It is a work that lives up to its stated goal of
'examining life with an active mind.' More importantly, the
love and concern that have been infused into his writing come
through clearly and in abundance."
~ Daniel K. Berman, Ph.D. ~ Harvard graduate
& former college instructor
"It has given me much to ponder...to add to the foundation
for abstinence I already have formed. I see the unselfishness
of which he writes so strongly in his family, and now understand
the depth of love I also see."
~ Lesley Austin ~ Mother and parent
of two boys, Virginia
