Poetry & Lyrics :: Lyrics by Peter Falkenberg Brown My Lord November 19, 1980
Standing with my head held high,
I saw the mountain peak.
My Lord stood there, against the sky,
And then I heard him speak.
"You were made to be my son,
Pure of heart and free.
I forgive the crimes you've done,
Now please come to me!"
Washing through my heart like rain,
His words filled me with light.
He told me what His heart contained,
He gave me fresh, new sight.
Even though I've been enslaved,
Tricked and bound by sin,
By His true love I am saved,
I belong to Him!
Never, never will I stop,
My climb toward my true goal.
I'll give it all my strength, my hope,
I'll give it all my soul.
Fighting through the bloody thorns,
Shouting out God's Word!
Marching upward I have sworn,
I will meet my Lord!
